Web Linking

Note for extra credit seekers: I'm still roughing this draft up, so no credit for my flubs until I remove this statement :D

These steps will help you understand how to make an object do something!

Let's start with the signs I'm going to make on the island, all of them linked to the three building pages. I made my three prims first (you should, of course, be sure they are shared with your group):

starting out to link object to Web

Then I put a texture on the first one (it will go to the first building page here):

Second step, linking object to Web

When all three were done, I took my HTML link script and dragged it from my inventory window to the first sign:

Third step, linking object to Web

I then repeated that for the other objects and went back to the first one, right clicked the sign, checked its content tab, and double clicked to open the script. In place of "Visit Mikhail's Wiki" and the Writing Center Web address I put a title, and a correct Web address for my wiki pages.

I did those last steps (this is very important) between the double quotation marks:

Final step in linking object to Web

Finally, I clicked the "Save" button, closed the script window, then clicked the sign one time. I got a blue window and chose the "go to page" option. Clicking it opened my Web browswer to the correct page. Done!
