How to upload images directly to the wiki

Page history last edited by Joe Essid 14 years, 5 months ago

Normally, I want any pictures related to virtual worlds to come in from Koinup. But if you have real-life images, drawings, and so on, try this.

Before you begin, save the file with a unique name. Otherwise, they can be overwritten by others. That's because we all share a file-space here.

My choice would be, say, for an image of Poe: iggypoe.jpg not poe.jpg.  Just do that when you save the image...use "Save as" in your photo editor to rename it.

That was actually the hard part. Uploading the picture you save is not too tricky to do:

  • If you look at the right hand side of your window when editing, you'll see two tabs under "Insert links"
  • Click the tab "images and files", then "upload files"
  • Locate the image you wish to upload on your harddrive, as I did with an image of Poe
  • Then click the file name (should be the top of the list on the R hand side of the screen). The image will appear on the page, and you can then drag it around in your document.
