The object of this assignments will be to get you fluent with:

• Taking snapshots in SL and getting the files to your blog
• Finding locations
• Practicing movement and teleportation
• Bonus: Earning Linden Dollars (I'm paying you...)

Each student will be given a folder of landmarks.  Once you are comfortable with the orientation island experience, and go to the mainland, I'll select one landmark from the folder for each of you, and say "GO!"

Each writer must visit the location and take a picture of him or herself (no screen captures!) and post it to his or her blog. Your avatar will get 50 Linden dollars when you post your photo.

I will also send each group instructions for how you will compete with the others, beyond this first task.  There will be cash prizes for the first person in each group to get a snapshot posted and notify me by e-mail. 

Other cash prizes will go to the writers who complete other tasks in the "hunt."

You will learn lots of skills in this assignment, but one of the best aspects is it GETS YOU TO READ the Getting Started in SL handbook. I've salted it with scavenger-hunt prizes.  Start reading! Start hunting! Make Linden Dollars! Your professor is clearly a nut...I'm giving money away!
